Perpetual Movement

From October 2016 to February 2017, my work was installed in its own room at the Lowry, as part of the ‘Perpetual Movement’ exhibition, celebrating 90 years of Rambert. I was one of four artists in the show, and was invited to contribute by Mark Baldwin, the Artistic Director at Rambert at the time, following my residency with the company.

The work involved a number of digital ‘windows’ and ‘pools’ made out of chained LED panels, playing videos off Raspberry Pis. There was also sound: I included optional audio interviews with the dancers, on headphones, because I wanted visitors to see past the abstract magic of dance, and experience the extraordinary personalities behind this level of accomplishment.
