I was the first digital artist in residence at leading contemporary dance company, Rambert, in London, from October 2015-February 2016. I spent a lot of time with the dancers, finding particular inspiration in the ways they think and their optimistic and brave approach to life.
I worked in particular with thermal video, Kinect, and 3D printing. You can find all the assets from the project, and a link to my residency blog here. One outcome was a book which you can read online, here. It was reviewed by Furtherfield here.
A second output was an installation at the Lowry.
I’ve given a number of talks about this experience, and have continued to work with dancers in various ways. I am always interested in working with dancers.
